International Marathon of Biarritz Pays Basque

7th May 2023

Nearly 10,000 people took part in the first edition of the international marathon in 2022, and it is back for a second edition!

The marathon will start and finish at the Aguilera stadium, from 7am. A real postcard route will be offered to participants:
Emblematic districts and monuments: the Church of Sainte-Eugénie, the old fishing port, the Biarritz lighthouse and its 73 metres of altitude, the villas, the casino, and the big hotels, such as the emblematic Hôtel du Palais.
6 km on the ocean front: the Virgin Rock, the Biarritz lighthouse, and the spots prized by surfers from all over the world: the Grande Plage, the Côte des Basques, the Miramar, the Marbella, the Cité de l’Océan…

ARGIA ETA KOSTALDEA Exhibition

From 2nd to 21st May

Discover the exhibition of the « Fresnel lens » invention, which revolutionised maritime signalling and is now present on most of the world’s lighthouses. 2023 is the year in which the bicentenary of this revolutionary invention is celebrated.

It will take place at the Biarritz lighthouse. Eric MICHEL, in residence for a month, is proposing an original scenography that integrates video and sound elements captured during his stay (lighthouse beams, wave noise, etc.), as well as interior and exterior creations.

Art Shopping Biarritz reinvests the Bellevue for 3 days !

From 27th to 29th May

Enjoy an « Arty » weekend on the Basque coast – a good reason to come to Biarritz! ART SHOPPING opens the doors of contemporary art to a wide public, breaking down barriers and codes. This event is open to all, with an opportunity to exchange with artists and gallery owners from all over the world, and also to acquire works simply.

During this 4th edition of Art Shopping Biarritz you will discover many artists: painters, photographers, sculptors, plastic artists, in total, nearly 50 artists will present their latest creations and will offer the opportunity to acquire directly a unique and certified work.

Admission is free upon presentation of the invitation.

Crampottons ensemble !

10 June

The 1st edition of the « Crampottons ensemble » festival will take place. It will highlight the « crampottes » of the Port des Pêcheurs (former fishermen’s houses).

Numerous activities are planned for the whole family! Theatre, exhibitions, animations, knots workshops, gastronomy, creators’ market, historical and costumed strolls, etc…

Biarritz International Film Festival

From 28th June to 1st July

Biarritz hosts the first edition of Nouvelle Vague, the Biarritz International Film Festival. Its aim is to showcase the younger generation. « Youth is the future written in the present tense, and during the festival, the present will be conjugated with the future.
